SITA: Whoever can string this bow is worthy enough to become my husband. Contender 1 goes up, tries and walks away. RAMA: I’ll give it a try. Rama lifts bow and breaks it. SITA: Wow! You sure are strong! You have proven worthy to be my husband! Sita puts necklace around Rama’s neck.
Scene 3: King Dasharatha- Noah Rama’s step-mother- Madison Kaikeyi- Cecelia Rama- Amr
KING: It is time for me to pass down my throne. Clearly, it should go to my oldest son, Rama. STEP-MOM: Absolutly not! It must go to my son, Bharata. You even said yourself that you would allow Bharata to be king. Rama must be banished! KING: Please don’t make me do this! STEP-MOM: I’ve already made up my mind. KING: Fine, but I can not tell him myself. Kaikeyi, you must inform him for me, for I cannot bare to banish my own son. KAIKEYI: Fine, if I have to. Rama, I have unfortunate news for you. RAMA: What is it Mother? KAIKEYI: You have been banished for 14 years and Bharata is taking the throne.

SITA: (to Rama) I belong with you and Lakshman. Please let me go with you. RAMA: Fine, let’s set out for the forest. (Meanwhile) BHARATA:How dare she banish Rama and break the rules of dharma. I must retreat Rama in the forest and make everything the way it should be. Run to forest. Rama, you must come back and rule. RAMA: No, I cannot. We must obey father. BHARATA: Takes Rama’s sandals. I will put these on the throne, and every day I shall place the fruits of my work at the feet on my Lord. Hug Rama. Run out of scene.
Scene 5: Rama- Amr Rakshasa- Cecelia Lakshman- Noah Ravana- Madison Person Meditating- Madison
Person is meditating. Rakshasa pushes them over.
RAMA: We must destroy these rakshasas who disturb the sages in their meditations. RAKSHASA: Hey there Rama. Lakshman drivers her away. (Rakshasa goes to see her brother Ravana) RAKSHASA: You must see the lovely Sita! Oh how I wish I was her... RAVANA: Really? Then I shall send her this magical golden deer to take her away from Rama and she will be mine!
Scene 6: Rama- Amr Lakshman- Noah Sita- Cecelia Ravana- Madison
LAKSHMAN: Rama, let’s go hunt some deer. We need to get some food. RAMA: Ok, but first, Sita I must draw a protective circle around you. As long as you do not step outside of this circle, you will be safe. Rama draws circle. Rama and Lakshman walk off. Ravana appears as a man begging alms. RAVANA: Please help me; I need food. SITA: Oh look, a poor man, I must help him! Sita steps out of circle. Ravana grabs Sita. RAVANA: Ha! You are mine now! I will now take you back to my kingdom in Lanka.
Scene 7: Rama- Amr General- Noah Sita- Cecelia Ravana- Madison
RAMA: Walks back to find Sita not there. Sita where did you go!?!? Rama falls to knees and weeps. GENERAL: We’ll help you find Sita! (Back at Lanka) RAVANA: All of the preparations for the marriage have been finalized. SITA: I will never marry you! As long as Rama is alive my heart belongs to him! General walks over to Sita. GENERAL: Don’t worry Sita. Rama will come soon and save you. RAVANA: You! Leave immediately! (General goes back to Rama) GENERAL: Rama! I know where Sita is! She is in the kingdom of Lanka, but she is trapped by Ravana. You must go and save her!
